Audio with embedded Album Art causes Live 8 to crash?

Post by Dub_Fiend » Sat Feb 27, 2010 8:11 pm

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? For some reason my Ableton Suite 8 to crash :S But if I run the track through Audacity and re-export it at the same bitrate then it works fine (minus album art).

This didn't used to happen when I was running XP but I changed to Windows 7 recently and I've been experienced this problem for a while now... Took me AGES to figure out what was causing it to crash though >.<

one of your problems is probably Windows 7. if you're running a pirated Suite 8, then thats the second part.

Theres a nice relationship between Ableton and Quicktime regarding .mp4 and .m4a files. Try installing Quicktime. They love each other. And they're friends.
Dirtier than fingering your sister and finding your dad's wedding ring...

Yeah, I'm sure that Live was written for Mac before it was ported to PC wasn't it? Damn Quicktime... I'll install it now and see what happens :)

EDIT
Yeah, turns out installing Quicktime rectified the problem :) I think it might be that Ableton can't deal with the album art data unless Quicktime is on to interpret it :)
