Hi!

I am having a problem. Torq was workin so sweet with vista but as soon as I upgraded to Windows 7 I have been havin trouble. Basically the tracks keep glitchin n skippin slightly and the waveform display is also lagging. Really annoying because I basically can not mix now! I use Torq on external mode and have checked all the settings, they are fine, as are the control vinyls.
I've already tried turning off all the background processes etc to no avail. My laptops quite new (Windows 7 was a free upgrade on release) so I really was not expecting these problems.
I also have the windows 7 driver. Any help would be massively appreciated!

Have you tried reinstalling Torq?

When you choose the upgrade option with windows 7, some times some programs dont transfer over tottaly seamlessly. I would try completely uninstalling Torq (And its drivers) and reinstalling them again.

thanks for the tip but no improvement still. also tried runnin it in vista and xp compatibility modes with no change. have tried improving performance via windows too but no change. so infuriating!
running street fighter 4 on my laptop and that has also slowed down. everything else works fine. seems like there is some background process slowin down my lappy but cant find any?

first off Ammo, your "thats what I call dustep mix" has been on heavy rotation in the ride for a while now!

and I am also a torq user and I am planning on buying a win7 lappy soon

Okay, the next thing to do is update your graphics drivers.


If they are old drivers that were designed for use with Vista, and not Win 7, these will cause all sorts of things to behave oddly.

You said the laptop is new, so it probably has the first driver that was written whenever the motherboard was made - an old driver basically. Its worth a shot.


I have Win7 (64 bit Ultimate) and have no problems with my Torq hardware or Deckadance software, so i'll be surprised if it is *just* Win7, if ya get me.

heard serato is more reliable, altho was listenin to a set on flex fm the other day n their serato failed. just wish records were cheaper/i was rich n all clubs had 1210s!

I love the fact that Torq normalizes the tunes as well

that is the best feature, they all can fail tho

needles can fuck up, the control vinyl can be messed up, the lappy, etc.. etc...

I have used Torq on XP, Vista and Win7 with no problems. I know this is of no help to ya but it's ok over here.

I see you have tried the couple things most people would suggest. Dunno if you have the aero theme on which is default for Win7, I have had problems with other software because of this. It's the same deal with Vista so you probably know, I am just throwing it out there. Another thing to consider is that Torq still doesn't support multi-cores so you can take your specs and cut them in half... actually that is probably wrong, I am no computer geek but the point is you can only use one of your cores. My single core lappy runs it better than my dual core fwiw then again my Win7 box is quad it's probably running on even less cpu and it's fine for me.

have installed the latest drivers for all my hardware but still no improvement! thanks for all the help so far

Well now i know not to upgrade to windows 7 lol.
Runnin torq 1.5 on vista and its smooth as silk.
Have you tried contacting m audio? i bet they can help you out, been hearing good things about them allthough never called em myself
