Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
basically just got torq, and it works fine.
but say i play a tune on a deck (using vinyl control) with the pitchslider on the turntable at 0 for some reason torq reads it as the pitchslider being on like -6 and slows down the tune, so basically it sets 0 on the vinyl turntable to like -6 in the software.
anyone know how to sort this out? its really damn annoying

1. This is Dubstep production forum (not DJing).
2. That's a very specific Torq question. I'm sure this forum will be much more helpful for you: http://www.torq-dj.com/forum/

go easy
there are enough torq users in here to help this dude
Province: are you sure it's the control vinyl and not your turntables? (check your stroboscope) you might need to get your pitch slider repaired or replaced

i think my decks are fine, when i play an actual vinyl on the deck the pitch levels are all fine, when its at zero, the tune plays at zero.
could it be something to do with the fact i have ms pinky control vinyls?
Re: Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
i'm not a timecode user, so don't know exactly if this is gonna help, but have your tried recalibrating your setup?
Re: Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
how do i go about doing that? dont think i went through any calibration process.Freshman wrote:i'm not a timecode user, so don't know exactly if this is gonna help, but have your tried recalibrating your setup?
Re: Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
I don't know, but found some information in the manual. Check out chapter 6 'external control'.Province wrote:how do i go about doing that? dont think i went through any calibration process.Freshman wrote:i'm not a timecode user, so don't know exactly if this is gonna help, but have your tried recalibrating your setup?

ok you know those little dots that come on the side of the platter?

ok now put the pitch at zero... look at the red light and the way it effects the dots
when the dots sit still, you are at absolute zero... if the dots move forward you are pitched up a bit... if the dots move backward you are slower

hmmmm
weird shit homie..
my system does wacky things sometimes as well
it's usually repaired by a restart
if you are using the ms. pinky vinyls... I assume you are using them at 45rpm, yeah?

Re: Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
shit man... pitch up the turntable until it sounds normal
Re: Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
yea thats the thing ill have to have the decks playing at +10 for them to get to almost 0 on torq, pretty wack.FSTZ wrote:shit man... pitch up the turntable until it sounds normal
thanks for the help anyway geezers! if someone finds out what the hell is going on you have to let me know ha. its getting me vexed

yea man.FSTZ wrote:you are on 45rpm?
right?
on the b side of the ms pinky, 45rpm still makes it play slow.
and on the a side 45rpm makes it as if the tracks meant to be 33 but its playing at 45, so just well fast.

Wrong records, get some proper torque ones.
Or change the vinyl version in the settings if that options still there.

Re: Problem with Torq - control vinyl tempo
Well mspinky makes vinyl specifically for Torq. Unless they are the actual mspinky ones then yeah I'd try something else. Does my head in how people have so many problems with Torq but I know I was bugging FSTZ a lot when I first got it too heheh. Not many problems since then tho.lazytechnician wrote:Wrong records, get some proper torque ones.
