Problems with nasty feedback loop with NI massive

Tried searching around the fourms and googling up this problem to no avail, I'm sure the fix is something simple or a fault of my own but I need to ask...
A patch I made in massive is giving me this strange feedback loop, even when a note is not activated there is huge amounts of sound like a note is being struck, but once it starts playing it will reproduce the sound perfectly. I worked around this by automating deactivation of the track whenever it is not being playing, but as i get farther in the noise is annoying and its something that has happened before.
What am I missing?
