I'm 17, went out till 3 o'clock yesterday. ONLY 3 o'clock! And today I can't go out anymore. Parents: you can't go out 2 times/week. And it was just to go watch movies with a few friends!?!
Am I unreasonable? Or are my parents just too fucking severe? They don't even care that much about me. It's almost just like they are saying no just to mess with me and make me unhappy...
I mean really what's the difference: drinking beer, watching a movie at home OR drinking beer watching a movie over at a friends house? I mean come ON!

Nah man, honestly they do care about you! There reasons are simple and evident in most families:

1. They want to go bed but there son is out doing god knows what. This generates worry and concern. Thus they will struggle to sleep.

2. You are under 18 and even if you are the most sensible intelligent person, you are still a teenager and this as you will i'm sure know, means drinking/sex/drugs and being rebellious.

3. You live in their house thus you live by their rules, it's hard but it's their house they pay the bills they decide when you come in and when you go out. Don't like it leave, basically.

Just grim and bear it untill you get more freedom and be more snide and sneaky with your excuses. Being your age is were you have to be inventive and creative in order to go out and have fun.

my paretns are from syria, my dad's born 1938... so he's oldschool.

i really had a hard struggle. but well i was a tnuc too sometimes. also it doesn't make it less different when you smoke weed when you're 14, start your own events, dj and all sorts of stuff for adults.

had some terrible situations.

top 3:
1. my mum has seen in the newspaper a picture of me, covered with a black mask jumping on a marcedes with a steel bar in my hands, ready do smash the front window.
you CANNOT imagine what ''discussions'' we had...

2. sneaked a girl into my house when i was 13, she was my first girlfriend. my parents woke up when she was leaving early in the morning...

my dad came, she ran away, he slapt me. most imbarassing scene ever.

3. mum found 20g of weed. dad had a heart attack in front of my eyes when i had to tell him about it. he thinks it's same as consuming heroin. this was the worst part of my teenage years

I'm am going out for almost 3 year now. I never, ever (honestly) came home over-pissed, never! And i am always very quiet when i go to bed, so i don't wake my parents

As said before: i never ever did something stupid, and i'm never rebellious because of the consequences: if i get in touch with the police or whatever my parents would kill me. And i just don't have the needs to do rebellious. I just want my freedom that's all. I harm no-one.

That's the only reason they have to keep me at home. And if that's so then it means they just keep me home to fucking annoy me.

The only bad thing is that my parents found a few cigarettes and they found out that i was gonna grow a few mushrooms. That's it.

throw some shit at the wall, write a few letters to them in blood and rip off a few dolls heads. they wont fuck with your anymore.

on a more serious note: Everyone's parents are like this. My mum is still like this to some extent now, always worrying about me and calling me. If they didnt do the things they do and stopped caring what you do and who with, that would mean something different.

be greatful they havent kicked you out.

My mate, back in school, his dad died when we were 16. a year later, his mum caught him smoking a fat one in the garden (he thought she was out) and she kicked him out the house. like, really kicked him out. he ended up in a half way home, socialising with crackeds and now is a skag head. all because his mum booted him out the house.
I was working for O2 about 3 years later (in a shop), and his mum walked in, looking for a phone and i refused to serve her. My boss took me to one side to basically say "erm... your job is to sell phones idiot" but explaned what she did and he responded with "fair play" and let me go back to eyeballin' her from the other end of the shop.

im seventeen too, after bein a rebel for a while they just stopped givin a fuck. but the best thing to do i think is to gain their trust and just be on their good side at all times. they prolly wont stop givin a fuck but they might be a bit more flexable with things if you talk to them about it. Like "hey ma, pa is it cool if i go to my friends pad n watch some movies?" and when they ask what time youll be home try givin em an honest answer, by sayin like 1 or 2, but then follow up n say "but i will call you if im going to be later" i mean like word it how your parents would like to hear it, i mean after all you known them your whole life so you probly know what they wanna hear. Always follow up with thanks and when taking know for an answer come through with " i understand" parents like it when their kids understand haha.

But fer realz dawg i dont think your parents are fuckin with you and im sure they care. I had friends whos parents didnt care about em and it was really obvious. The best way to get anything done is to be completely honest, in all cases. Trust is power.

I pretty much have their trust: i told them that occasionally i smoke a joint with, and that i'm fascinated by psychedelics but not really heavy into it, and they can pretty much accept that. Have never done something stupid like getting in a fight or public drunkness or lost my coats while being smashed. never! I'm always very responsible and they know it! I'm always home when they ask me to..
But all they do is whining about my grades and my music.... And my grades aren't even bad

My mum found an 1/8 of dope in my draw when I was 16 and had a go at me for it. She also saw me selling acid and mdma. Both my parents knew what I did because I told them everything. They were both really worried but they couldn't really do anything. They knew how much acid etc I did. They couldn't really say anything since they'd both done shrooms and smoked dope.

When I went on a really bad trip I came home at the peak and was talking to my mum about it while I was on it. That shook her up a bit. I also ate 270 liberty caps and threw up blood and undigested mushrooms all down the stairs in my house which set her off on a panic attack.

My mum put up with a lot. She did kick me out at one point though.

Because I had 270 liberty caps and I wanted to eat that many. You make more money off drugs than pruning a hedge plus I could get more for myself if I bought large amounts.

I got what you mean man, your parents really do give a fuck then. I had a bunch of friends with parents like that, they just want whats best for you. You are going to have a good future because of it, and your gonna be happy they did all that for you.

my parents gave up a while back and ive been facing a lot of this ^^ Im pretty much a room mate to them, except they pay for stuff. It kinda sucks never being told what to do. Im jealous of what you have to be honest.

I tried and my mom got emotional when i brought it up. I kinda dropped it, but im almost done though im going to be taking off for college soon . But like i said man you have it alright, i wanted freedom, now i have it, Ive tasted both but now i would rather have parents again.
