This man really needs no introduction, as head of the N.A.S.T.Y crew, MARCUS NASTY was responsible for bringing through some of the biggest MCs in the Grime scene (Jammer, Kano, D Double E & Footsie). Fast forward a good few years and Marcus is one of the first Grime DJs to fully embrace the slower tempos of House, bringing his own unique stamp to it. Rather than playing the softer, deeper style of US & European House, Marcus chased up the new batch of UK producers that were turning their hand to House. Thus giving him the title of the "godfather of UK Funky".

Since setting up the Hessle Audio label with Ramadanman & Pangaea BEN UFO has gone on to become one of the most respected DJs in the scene. His sets join the dots between House, Garage, Dubstep, Techno and the rest of that good, good stuff. Not only has he set up one of the most highly respected labels, he was one of the heads behind the first Dubstep night in Leeds (Ruffage) which has seen the likes of Oneman, Kode 9, Brackles, Martyn & Hatcha grace it's doors . Do not miss this set, he seriously never disappoints.

We are very pleased to welcome recent signing to Will Saul's Aus Music label, MIDLAND, to Tropical. Raised on a healthy diet of electronic music by his older siblings ranging from acid house, trip hop, hardcore and jungle Midland first found solace in the arms of the faster world of drum and bass. After spending last summer wandering across spain on foot he came back and began experimenting at much slower tempos. This experimentation soon became his occupation as he settled in to the groove anywhere between 120-135bpm. His aim is to create a homogenous sound that people from different musical persuasions can appreciate, With music forthcoming on Aus Music and a solo ep on Phonica as well as remix work for a number of artists from different ends of the spectrum including Zarif, Ramadanman and Stateless 2010 is shaping up to be a busy year.

Also on the night we have WEBSTARR who, with his Forefront night, has brought some of our favorite DJs to Hull such as Spyro, Youngsta, Jay5 & Ben UFO.
