Who is into dubstep & breaks?

Hello
Do you like dubstep and breakbeat?
I think if done well by the dj this is a good mix of music for a club as I am a fan of not listening to excatly the same style of music all night, but I'm interested in what other people think???

I've seen a few people try it. Usually with little success.

In my humble opinion they are two compltey different genre's. I guess it depends on what kind of dubstep and what kind of breaks. I'm sure it could work with the right tunes. I was simply stating that the times I've seen it, people werent really into it.

I'm not too familiar with breaks as a genre but check this tune I did that I think shares vibes...

Yea I agree dj ill kid they are completely different genres but they are crossing over in places now as some breakbeat tunes have a dubstep breakdown now and there are dubstep producers out there with a breakbeat style. Elite Force seems to be feeling the dubstep vibe at the moment which I think is good for both scenes. I personally like the melding of these styles but oibviously there's some dustep it would work with and some it wouldn't.
Any other opinions out there?

Oh and thanx for the link Drift, I enjoyed that.

They may be different genres but I find they mix together pretty well tbh

Then again Id slip some minimal tech in there too

Variety is the spice of life

I like jumping genres so a Breakbeat/Dubstep/Minimal tech set that worked would be magic, havn't heard one yet though!
Tayo gets involved with Breaks and Dubstep. The FabricLive 42 by Freq Nasty is a good melding of Breakbeat and Dubstep.

Check my sig, that's my attempt at fusing debstep with breakbeat :6:

And certain styles of dubstep mix really well with old hardcore breaks IMO. :e:

Ive been DJing breaks for 12 years... you can mix whatever genres you want, breaks. dubstep, grime, garage, d&b, dancehall, bassline... all these genres aren't actual "genres". They are just sounds, and as soon as you get purist with them, you block their progress.
So, to the OP: yes, you can mix all types of genres if you know what you're doing 8)

Hey kids, I am new here. I know brostep is hated here, but can you guys concede that Excision did a great job mixing breaks/dubstep in his Shambhala 2009 mix?

Just thought I would mention it to give a little context to this discussion.
