Or alternatively, ditch Reason because its crap and move exclusively to Cubase.

Cubase 5 makes my penis stand to attention.

Reaper is a bit of a sexy bitch too.

Take it away Doris Day:

When I was just a noob
I asked a forum, what Daw will I need
I need to rewire, I need VST's
Here's what they said to me.

A Daw's a Daw's a Daw,
What ever rewires, will do,
They can all make a tune, it's true,
Daw's a Daw's a Daw
They can all make a tune for you

sounds like you're comfortable using reason, and since you wanna work with acapellas i think you should go with ableton. you can do most of your sound design in reason, and rewire to ableton to arrange your parts in crazy ways, throw it on top of acapellas, and bring out the live aspect of your stuff

I've recently started rewiring Reason through Ableton, but only because I'm an Ableton user wanting to use aspects of Reason. Seems to work quite well from my experience so far, I would recommend, but then again it's down to opinion on what you like to use.

And to the comment about Reason being crap, perhaps you should learn to use it properly before casting full judgement, it's quite a powerful program when you use it properly!

Don't judge something you can adequately use, hence you making the assumption its "shite" No need to go into dept about the reason to why its a great software.

And the answer to question would best be cubase i think, because you want to have some of the production aspects for other programs and VST use, go for cubase. However you want change your mind and was the engineering side of thing go to pro tools.

Dont judge something I can adequately use? Errr Ok. Makes perfect sense. That really put me in my place........ :|

For your info nitz, I used Reason for a while when I started out and have friends that use it now. So I do know what it can do and I also know it is hugely limiting when compared to other DAW's. Why do you think so many people want to Rewire it to other programs?

Sorry if me describing it as "Shite" has offended you and the other Reason heads on here......... I has no idea you guys were all so precious. :P

Fair play

I just get sick of people complaining thats it shit shit shit ect. In most cases its the user who can not adapt to the program, to my knowledge its the only software which works in emulating hardware units. However, there are some cases where the user can simply not create the way he wants his music on it due to many reasons. Hence why you would rewire

Yes it many limts it to, the main ones it probably about its sound engine and lack of use of VST's, but it makes up in its flexibility. I have used reason for a long time, and it can be piss take at times, and engineering a mixdown and full master takes some take but it can be done! Am still learning on it man, so many different possibility you can have.

you got to be kidding me ?
ditch reason ?!
anyone who has reasons know what is up.
its just not as straight forward as fl and other softwares but its capable of just so much more.
if anything rewire reason to ableton to use the alternative patches and drop vocals.
