Dont pirate shit dude. I dont know if thats what you were asking for so I dont seem accusatory, but, yo gimme a big name in dubstep thats not chase n status, and Ill be willing to be they are a REAL person, and probably work a day job outside the music.
Theres very little money to be made in e.d.m., and it never fails to make me smile when I buy tracks from good people I chat with, because I know a decent percentageof that (granted the labels worth its weight) will go to benefit the artists. I can only hope half the guys I buy tunes from do the same for me when I get released, but, either way, in a scene this grassroots, you cant pirate, thats fucked up. Ask ole abZ how much your average sized dubstep/dnb label brings in a release, bet youll be surprised. And honestly, before Id ever download anything, id just message an artist and say 'yo, Im to broke to buy this, but I will tell enough people about it that SOMEONE will pay for it...' and 99% of te time, artists are cool about it, and youll get what you ask for.
That being said.
The dubs section here, soundcloud and myspace, ask for 320s...
electrobel.be is pretty sweeeeet. Mad free tunes, in every genre, even acoustic.
Theres a thread on here called 'Dubstep Netlabels' Ive been lurking in since long before I joined this board, google it out and theres gold there to.
