Hi all,

I've just started a production blog for that stuff that people are calling "bass music", be it dubstep, garage, uk funky or anything bass-centric at around that tempo.

It's called Make Some Bass. In 300-500 words or so, producers talk about a track they've made.

The first three features:
Feature 1: Philthkids - The Flipper
Feature 2: Ill Cosby - Lo Oyen
Feature 3: Matthew Hiscock - Oh Those Sexy Sweatpants.

Upcoming: Autopilot and a Montreal special featuring HGLDT, Intoccabile and Komodo.

If anyone wants to take part, or has any suggestions on how to make it better/more informative, drop me a line here or through the blog.

One suggestion... Any chance these could be a bit longer? With more indepth questions?

That's a good suggestion, and something I've been thinking about. There's always been the question of whether to make it more interview-like, with specific questions about the tracks, rather than general workflow-type stuff like it is now. I usually give the producers a fair bit of leeway in choosing their track, which means I don't always know which track they're going to write about until the writeup is done.

In that way, it's really oriented around the producer and not the track, based on the assumption that most producers have a similar process for most tracks. It also means a minimum of back-and-forth, which really speeds up the process.

For now, since they're all Soundcloud-hosted, you can always post a question in the track yourself, or in the comments section of the blog.

For the future, if there's something that I think people are going to want to know that I don't see addressed after I get back the profile, I'll ask for a little clarification and put it as a note at the end.
