I didn't listen to it all the way through, but one thing I would suggest is expanding on the drums!

I really have to say that was kinda bad, in my personal opinion. Here's what could have been better:

1. As previously stated, the drums. For one, they're really background and muffled, and they don't seem to follow a very 'groovable' beat. It sorta sounds like it's played on a keyboard to no metronome and it's just kinda 'there. It's like every other beat it on some weird 16th note somewhere. Plus, it's not complex enough to be fun to listen to, I'd recommend adding either more drums, or brightening up yours so they aren't so background, or both... and making sure the beats fall on a time that makes sense.

2. The background vocal thing is sort of the same way. Really muffled (not like, filtered low or anything, just really dully EQ'd, and should be brightened or maybe just used very sparsely so it's more of an emphasis than a track-wide presence. They're too indiscernable and mixed with the muffled drums it makes the whole track sound weak.

3. The track MIGHT be a little too Ambient to call dubstep. Now that's a risky statement since I'm new to the Genre myself, but it seems like it would be more of a Datach'i song or something of that variety. With the bass as mellow/undynamic as it is with the low drums, it lacks the solid groove that makes most dubstep the danceable/'bobbable' genre that it is.

4. What I DO like, however, is what sounds like you left your mic on and I can hear chair squeaks and breathing. It's creepy and sort of uncomfortable, however if it was sitting on a track with more attack it would probably add that homebrew/glitchy feel that's just so fun to have in songs.

Overall: It would have been a fun ambient song if the drums made more sense and if it was overall 'brightened up'. But the mix sorta sounds like you held a mic up to a really cheap speaker and asked a 6 year old to program the drums. Lastly, it sounds more like late 90s hard house music than Dubbery.

But don't get hurt feelings. It's just my opinion.

I made the drums offbeat deliberately. I cut a lot of high and low frequencies so the low end of it came more from the bass and the synth parts covered over the top. It's really heavily influenced by burial if you haven't heard some of his stuff you wont really get where I'm trying to come from with this but thanks for letting me know what you think x

ya it defintely sounds like the drums are off (hi hats!????)..i know you were trying to play them off as well...but they still have to groove ...i.e. flying lotus, anticon, and all the low end theory beats..they have an odd swing yet still groove...anayways the vocals are cool..i like how they r muffled...bring em out more...low end doesnt really seem to exist...what DAW's and VST's are you using? You got a vision you just need the technical skills. soon enough.

the drone.

Just technical experience is all you need, you have to makings of a pretty good track there if it was balanced a bit better and had some groove to it, do you have anyway of saving stuff as wav on your computer? what are you using to make your tunes?

I think these guys have covered everything I was going to say - but you know what, your sample is strong, it just needs some work!

thanks alot ! I used ableton and most of it was done with simpler. the stuff that wasn't was just an instrument of the instrument rack coulda been a (flute or or an oboe) with resonators drenched in reverb.
