I say fuck bros before hos

So tonight I pick up my buddy and his two female friends at a bar, and we're getting ready to leave for another club, and my buddy pulls me aside and tells me "just so you know, I'm trying for that one on the left", which was sort of like my 'bro warning' to not hit on her and to be his wingman for the night, and I was like "sure thing".
So I'm hitting it off with this girl's friend, playing the wingman, giving my buddy and his crush their space, but he keeps leaving for long periods of time to go say hi to his 'homies', and this girl he's interested in keeps coming back to me and dancing w/ me, and to add to that her friend which I was supposed to be keeping entertained turns sour on me, so what am I going to do? I decide not to let my night go to waste, and I start partying with my buddy's crush and discover she's a really cool girl and we have a great time.
Now the night is wrapping up and we're ordering pizza by the slice at some place and my buddy is making an ass of himself talking about how he would have "fucked up" some creep that kept hanging around our two girls back at the club, just trying to sound all macho and tough, and every word he speaks just draws me and his girl closer, and we start talking more while he keeps ranting. Finally, near the end of the night, me and his girl agree to watch a movie some time together and I give her a big bear hug and me and my buddy take off in my car.
On the car ride home he talks about how long he's liked her and how much of a dick her last boyfriend was and how he would be so much nicer to her if they ever dated and how he's "so close" to finally winning her over and I'm listening to this going "Dude, you can't even fucking pick up on the signals she's sending you - she's not that into you". So then after some thought, I decided: fuck 'bros before hos'.
I see it like this: If I'm attracted to some girl, but she rejects me for one of my buddies, that's tough luck for me. It's called the law of attraction. Get used to it. This buddy of mine is a good friend, but if his girl chooses me, that's not my problem. I'm not going to refuse her because of some stupid 'bro honour code', that's in reality just a fallback for the heartbroken men among us.
