Purple sound.

Post by Assassin » Mon Apr 19, 2010 2:01 pm

I've been listening to few dubstep artists from Bristol. Everything seems to sound brilliant coming out of bristol.

Could you reccommend me a few purple sound artists?

Drop n Roll are from Bristol, they're pretty decent. Don't know who they're with though.

Off the top of my head:

labels: ApplePips, Skull Disco (RIP), Immerse, Soul Motive, HENCH

artists: wascal, superrisk, Forsaken, Peverelist... really the list is huge.

Something in the cider in Bristol for sure.

I'm definitely not one of these 'purple' sound goons. Joker, Gemmy, Ginz and Guido are the obvious components. But if you were to take the 'purple' sound as synthesis inspired by the funk groups of the 70's and 80's, and Prince being a major influence. Then Hyetal has to be included. In Bristol, there's no one else really doing that sound.

I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.
