prolly shouldn't have done this but fuck it...

Post by 2manynoobs » Mon Apr 26, 2010 5:51 pm

.. i'm free to make groups on fb as much as i want

misson:
With this page I am hoping to make a small statement: although sub-genres within a certain musical genre are wrong, I think that we should make be a distinction between dubstep like most of you know it (hard, wobble, big snares, mostly commercially orientated) and dubstep as it used to be and still is: an underground style of music with a deeper understanding to it.

This is not to hate on generic-wobble-dubstep or whatsoever, I just want to make things a bit more clear, and gather the people who are interested in hearing class A bass-dance-music with a hell of a lot of soul and vibes to it.

Again, I think this is wrong but I think people need some sort of reference in dubstep because the variety in dubstep is getting too big

---------

If you agree with me, and if you like the music then join the page. If you don't care, then just go on with your life and pretend nothing ever happened.

Also, I did not invent the term "post-dubstep", I am just some one who decided to make a group named after it. BY THE WAY: if some one has a better name, let me know. I'll change it.

---------

So what is "post-dubstep" exactly?
It's simple: 140bpm, Bass and Soul & Groove.
From Detroit-techno crossovers to deep-house-vibes to garage & future garage sounds or hip-hop, jazzy and dubby flavors and so on...

Also the main mentality of "post-dubstep" is to get people dancing and feel the music rather than to have a smashing party with mosh-pits and the DJ crowd-surfing (I'm not calling any names).

The reason why people attend these "post-dubstep" events is rather to hear the music then to socialize with other people. Although it is of course very cool to talk to like-minded people and dance aside them as they love the music as much as you do. And of course share a spliff with them.

If you're in need of a phat party to let off some steam, then may I kindly ask you to go to another party in stead of spoiling ours? This is also another reason why I decided to make the group.

---------

So.. I hope I'm not offending anyone. If so, I'm sorry. But I think that it had to be done.

peace & vibe on!

Yeah I did it. prolly shouldn't have done it. but again fuck it

I realise we need this distinction, but I think a lot of people on here won't agree.

There are only two types of dubstep:
  • 1. Good dubstep
    2. Bad dubstep

Sounds less pretentious then real dubstep though. Sounds less like an attack and more like a compromise.

yeah that's what i think is needed.

if you see a mixtape with post-dubstep behind it, you can at least know what to expect. Same applies for a party. if there's post-dubstep on the flyer you know that it isn't gonna be wobble all night long

and on top: it's easyer to just say post-dubstep then to sum the whole thing up: yeah garagy/housy and techno vibes or whatever

You bunch 'o tits

This is more feeble than the 'new metal/troo metal' debate the 90's saw

Which is more important of a goal:
to seperate brosteppahs from yourselves?
Or to seperate yourselves from brosteppahs?

Do something intelligent. If you really hate this new manifesting scene, cut out the promoting middle man 'facebook' etc. Leave it for the kids. Use time to make tunes you like

People should boycot this daft idea before it leads into gangs and factions

post-dubstep
It's simple: 140bpm, Bass and Soul & Groove.
From Detroit-techno crossovers to deep-house-vibes to garage & future garage sounds or hip-hop, jazzy and dubby flavors and so on...
the thing is: people are already putting deep/housy or garagy behind their mixtapes or tunes so people know what to expect.
the term post-dubstep is just to make it easy'er to distinguish. It's not an attack on wobble or brosteppers or whatsoever (i think i made that clear in the text up there tho)

and it's with this facebookgroup that i hope that more people will start to use the term so it's easyer to dig new likestyled music you see. no hate man

Yeah but you're wasting energy by swimming up stream; all those who 'go with the hipster flow' are going to be constantly pushing you back down. It's a one sided battle, the people you all deem as threatening I doubt even realise let alone acknowledge the great dubstep crusade.

It's a surefire way to burn yourself out. Your hatred is never going to fall on any of the 'sub groups' - only within your self and no doubtly will end up directed at the music you love. Self destructive aye

If any of you give a shit use the motivation to produce mighty vibrating warriors for the clubs' battlefields.

People always used to say the pen is mightier than the sword, but we're not fucking stone age anymore. Tis the dawn of big systems and sub bass, so call to arms chaps

Your opening line is pretty pretentious and, I believe, targets the wrong group of people in the wrong way - you're already expecting that most of the people who're gonna read it are "new" to the scene and into mid-range wobble with the phrase "dubstep like most of you know it".

yup you are right. I should work a bit more on that mission thing.
The message is more to have a space where like-minded people who are very passionate about the same music can gather and share tunes/talk about it.

Dear fellow dubstepper who likes the deep & soulful kind of dubstep,

The main reason of existence of this group is to gather people who like the certain deep kind of dubstep. Here you can and talk about it's artists, tracks and of course the music itself. You can also promote events and you can get to know like-minded people who are into the post-dubstep-sound as well.

----------

So for those who don't know, what is "post-dubstep" exactly?
Well, it's simple: it's mainly electronic dance music @ 140bpm, full of rich, warm Bass, Soul & Groove.
From the Detroit-techno crossovers to the deep-house-vibes to garage & future garage sounds or hip-hop, jazzy and dubby flavors. And so on..

----------

The real mentality of dubstep is to get people dancing and feel the music rather than to have a smashing party with mosh-pits and the DJ crowd-surfing.

If you still like to have smashing party's with mosh-pits and the DJ crowd-surfing, let me kindly redirect you to Borgore's myspace: http://www.myspace.com/borgore
I'm sure this will suit you better. Good bye.

---------

So for those of you who love some good dubstep vibes, I hope you enjoy yourself on this page. Please don't let it become just another FB-page. Check it out from time to time as I'll do my best to post some fresh artists for you to check out now and then.

peace & vibe on!
Maybe this is sliiiiiightly better? :6:
OK perhaps i should cut the borgore thing?
