François K welcomes the undisputed first lady of bass to Deep Space: Mary Anne Hobbs. Regarded as bass music's cultural ambassador, she is responsible for bringing innovative electronic sounds to all corners of the globe via her influential Radio 1 Experimental show on the BBC, curation of her own stage at Sonar Festival in Barcelona, as well as three definitive compilations of forward-thinking electronic music on Planet Mu. Mary Anne was a key figure in breaking the dubstep sound globally, beginning with her foundational Dubstep Warz special on BBC in early 2006, featuring mixes from the bubbling scene's pioneers. In the years following she has continued to display her fierce passion for hunting down and exposing true electronic talent, with an uncanny ability to traverse genres and sub-genres while maintaining a sense of the spirit that connects them.

i didn't go so i'm not commenting on this night, but from my experience, Cielo parties always have more of a loungey atmosphere. like it's not all people who came for the dj and want to dance and are listening intently to the dj. it's a different vibe

Did you go into the center? The Place is well laid out so you can talk around the edges, but step down onto the floor and it was plenty loud. Tho not so loud I needed earplugs which was a welcome change.

Cielo ain't love, but they have a great, well balanced system and a great space, and Mary Anne killed it with a solid set, didn't lose me once. The sound is better if you step down into the center, but I was on the edges and it was fine to me (more dancing space). I like the 'no ear plugs can talk to the person next to you while the bass rattles you' but Love is the best IMO.
