Someone else posted something similar not so long ago. Your best bet would be to upload in HD, 720p should be ample. There's not a whole lot else you can do tbh as youtube compresses the videos once you upload them. In movie maker once you go to create the video a window will appear asking what resolution you want to upload to, just select 720p and let it make the video. May take a while to upload to youtube as the video file will be quite larger (around 60mb).

if you're using movie maker you can also publish straight to youtube, i have no idea if it selects the optimal settings when you do that but you'd imagine it would

Yeah you can, although i don't recommend as it's not as high quality as uploading in HD. Just remember to delete the video file from your comp when your done if you don't need it. After a while, a loada 60mb files takes up a lot of hard disk space

I'm sure I used a converter to change the file type before uplaoding my only video to youtube but this was the quality (or lack of) sound quality:
