It doesn't matter. Honestly. If you how to modify sounds then it doesn't matter really what your source is, they'll all be good clean samples.

my suggestion is you buy a pack made for whatever kind of music your into besides or before dubstep and use those sounds to make dubstep. then you will be using outside influences in your music and not making canabal insest music. otherwise it probably doesnt matter they will all be similar im sure.

make your own patches, its a lot more fun and satisfying to create your own sound than tweak someone else's.

Man, people waste so much time on this forum posting stupid responses to things, just to make a point about not having their time wasted. Turning into a pretty unhelpful place for people who are just starting out. Everyone starts somewhere remember.

To be honest mate I don't think any of the packs sound that great but if I had to pick one I'd probably go for the third one you posted. Most the sounds in the other packs (especially the basses) seem pretty weak, something you could easily knock up yourself with a bit of experimentation. Sounds like that from the previews anyway, I haven't heard the whole things. If you are new to production (forgive me if you're not) or just aren't that familiar with your tools, follow some tutorials on youtube or something, not necessarily for making dubstep sounds, just anything. It's a great way to learn your synths and get your head around routing etc.

Get this proton refill. V1 is free so may as well check it out. It's some analog style waveforns sampled for the nnxt. I love it, really fat sounds can be easily made. At any rate just sample as many refills as you can because many have demos, we can't really tell you what youd like.

ok thanks guys.

infrasound - i am new to production. i do have many great ideas for dubstep im just learning how to get my ideas out through reason. slowly but surely. i already have about half a song done. i think it's pretty good for my first ever tune. plus iv only been using reason for a couple of weeks.

and yeah idk why people post stupid things like the above posters. if you don't have anything helpful to say then just simply don't post.

ninjadog - can you provide a link to that V1 pack?

anyways, thanks guys. appreciate the input.
