Music is to be listened to, not collected and stored in a warehouse.
I'll elaborate later.

He listens to it though, and he likes listening to it too.
But if you're getting blind then keeping an archive with 2.5 million records in it is kinda hard.

I'm pretty sure that man has listened to every record in the warehouse, and continues to pull out stuff to listen to every day.collige wrote:Music is to be listened to, not collected and stored in a warehouse.

Listening and collecting go hand in hand mate, with storage in a warehouse only getting involved when your talking about 2 million records.

exactly man.NilsFG wrote:He listens to it though, and he likes listening to it too.

if all you saw was a man collecting and storing records and not a person who has dedicated their life to music then you must be cold and dead inside.

The thing about cutting the highs and lows only applies to mp3. Bad ones at that.
But I care about his records.

Thing is, most people that listen to digital music are listening to mp3's.yong wrote:The thing about cutting the highs and lows only applies to mp3. Bad ones at that.

Except audiophiles, dj's & producers, almost no one listens to WAV, AIFF or FLAC.
Re: throw the mp3's in the (recycle) bin
Why was his shop forced to close?
It should be buzzin in there.
Its quite sad thinking abut digital music after watching that.

Re: throw the mp3's in the (recycle) bin
I'm not being Anti anything, I am pro vinyl and everything else.
I was just thinking, if you produce a song digitally and save it in WAV or FLAC or whatever, it wont lose any quality then will it?
And surely it must lose a little quality when being cut to vinyl. Therefore a lot of modern music is better in a digital format? Actually, does that mean anything recorded and mastered digitally will sound the same or better if it is in WAV/FLAC?
Just something that crossed my mind whilst pondering on the subject.
However, nothing gives you that feeling like having it there in Vinyl form. I've come to a conclusion that I need to start buying more wax again

A WAV/FLAC and a fresh record are actually quite the same when talking about quality. Ofcourse, a WAV will always be crisp (when mastered though) while vinyl can lose quality after plays, bad needle etc.jmt wrote:I'm not being Anti anything, I am pro vinyl and everything else.

However, most music that's record in WAV is distributed in mp3 to "normal" listeners, and mp3 is inferior to both WAV and vinyl.

when a needle scratches the record alpha waves get amplified as well, this shit cant be heard but it makes ya feel good! also a records have a true representation of vibrational energy. which only really makes a big difference when ya use analogue hardware & non digital instruments! memory sticks are the future! you will get everything in original quality

when you're an old man or woman, are you planning on giving your kid's a hard drive as an heirloom? "here son, this is my 30 years of collecting music"
