High Pass Filter On Bass
Just a quick tip I found, high bass your bass at around 45 or 50 hz (unless you really do have some crazy 33hz tones that are intentionally in there). Really cleans things up a LOT.

What is the difference between doing a high pass filter or a high pass EQ on the same frequency ranges?

Re: High Pass Filter On Bass
difference between EQing and filtering isn't much really, they're basically the same thingkrispy wrote:What is the difference between doing a high pass filter or a high pass EQ on the same frequency ranges?
How does I wobbled bass?
Re: High Pass Filter On Bass
filters are more agressive and definate, EQ's are more subtle, usually.

Re: High Pass Filter On Bass
that's more to do with how they're used I thought, generally if you want subtle you go for EQ and if you want complete cuts you go for filters but I don't think that's because they work differently if you really wanted you could do it the other way aroundkarmine wrote:filters are more agressive and definate, EQ's are more subtle, usually.

But yeah I usually chop it at the 30 mark.
Re: High Pass Filter On Bass
it seemed counter productive to me as well, but im liking the results so far, still gives you plenty nuff bass to to work with and hits you in all the right places while keeping things really tight and comprehendable.
