Help with good synthesizer software, etc.

Post by WillageSpillage » Wed May 12, 2010 9:30 pm

Hey there guys,

Now I have just started making music, but the software I use doesn't support VSTI plugins. Now could anyone tell me of any FREE good synthesizers with oscillators and all that business included. I want to make my own bassline's and synthline's but I cant because I need this software. Or if anyone can suggest me something that can help would be great!

I used Acid Pro for years and years and years and had no idea what a shitty program it really was until I upgraded to Reaper, which has pretty much everything you like about Acid and none of the crap. Now I wish I could kick Sony in the balls for wasting so much of my time.

Full VST support; less than 5 MB install, while Acid takes hundreds and hundreds of megs with all of its cluttery data cabs and shit writing to the registry and whatnot... and yet it's more stable than Acid too.

You can fully customize the interface to make it look however you want.

You can use a full version of Reaper for free, and once it's clear how superior it is you buy the home license for $60 US (instead of Acid's several-hundred-dollar pricetag.)

Sound compelling yet?

I seriously have yet to find one way that Acid is better than Reaper for audio production.
