Cutting up a song to use for a dubstep remix

Hey guys, Im still fairly new to all this stuff but I am interested in remixing/dubbing over songs. I use ableton live 8 and massive. Is there a certain way to go about chopping up a song in order to remix?
Also is there a way in ableton to get rid of all the instruments and turn a song into an acapella. Help would be much appreciated. thanks guys

apparently you need to print the song out then feed it to an alpaca, then hold a large diaphragm condensor mic infront of the alpacas arse and wait for it to shit the song back out again, then record this and feed it back into your DAW with baaare distortion/formant filtering...

it's about putting your own spin on an influence man
music is subjective
plenty of "deep" and "classic" dubstep is the same just it's a majority mob mentality behind it
shit daft punk is "classic" and they did the same with how many tunes?

at the end of the day have fun and make music for yourself, if other people dig it cool

There is a big difference between what they do and what every 12 year old does imo.
The 12 year olds just take the intro and slap some random wobble piece of shit over it.

Don't listen to these dudes. Do what you think sounds good. That's the beauty of this style of music, there are no rules.

Edit, I forgot to give some advise. When I did this geto boys remix in my sig, I used ableton to fine tune the original song in tune with my synth. I then exported that, and reloaded the audio and warped, chopped, ect all the parts that I wanted. That's the joy of ableton's warping is that anything is possible. Just study up on it. Some great vids on youtube regarding warping audio in ableton.

to answer the quesiton, ableton has everything you need. warp the track to 140 bpm. cut it into intro/verse/chorus section or whatever then whack your wobbles in between..

Keep the original tune the EXACT same, put a phat with a ph snare on top, some filthy basslines and there you go.

Only joking, don't do that do something completely different. Make the original with your own samples or sample it slightly. Put your take on the song, not the one that gets you the most views on youtube...
