Top world scientists say it'll go all the way up the eastern seaboard to the Arctic and even Europe. It'll be 15 - 25 yrs before the effects are cleaned up. Word is the oyster beds and shrimp coming from the mouth of the Mississippi won't be edible for a more than a decade.... :q: :u: mother f*cker f*cking f*ck. I feel really bad for the people who depend on those beaches and seafood industry. Of course its right off the shores of New Orleans. :r:

I could say that this has been a conspiracy to frame BP and wipe out their market share...

Buttt goes to show how bad fossil fuels are for the environment! Humanity needs to start thinking about it's future a lot more and do something NOW!

The horrible thing is that this could have all been prevented if the US weren't so damn lax with their regulations.

BP has similar oil rigs in Europe, and they're mandated by law to include remote shutoff valves just for cases like this. However, everything is so damn deregulated in the US, and they didn't have to include those, so they decided not to.

Not to mention the fact that there was a moratorium on off-shore drilling which the Obama Administration lifted a month or two before this happened. I'm mostly supportive of Obama, but WHAT THE FUCK WAS HE THINKING.

It's fucking depressing to think of all the wildlife that's being destroyed by this. The only good thing about this whole thing is that it might be a bit of a wake up call to the world that it needs to get off its fucking ass and needs to do something about clean energy NOW. A little is being done already, but it's really not enough. It needs to be one of the top priorities of every country in the world (obviously with exception of the third world nations that have even more drastic issues).
