make sure u share them & start getting played.

*what is the point of posting stuff to sc if your not going to share the tune

loads of shite tunes aren't even shared let alone the good ones.

esp if you have no plans to sell it.

True but you can always ask for a 320. You'll miss out on a lot of good stuff if you only listen to downloadable tunes.

tru dat, although you can always request a DL if you like it enough (above beat me to it)...bit more of a lengthy process though :|

If you like a track, ask for it, show that you support the artist by giving them a personal message.

I only have put my free releases up for download, everything else is either in talks of being signed or I play it out a lot so I want to keep it to myself and have it up on soundcloud for linking purposes.

i disagree
or are all the check my new tune i've been making dubstep for 2 hrs threads need to be spread to a flooded scene
if you believe it's good share with brutally honest and trustworthy people
if it passes that test, then continue on

i just put everything on soundcloud straight away. it's a practice i might stop if i ever get regular releases but for now the most important thing for me is just getting it somewhere where people can hear it. in case they like it.

My ultimate goal is to Release my music.

I can't imagine Mr Oizo sending out free 320s regardless of how unsigned / unfinished / un-official / un-anything, the tune is, or posting up every track he did the night before. You have to maintain some level of ...(can't think of the right word)... if you want to be a quote un-quote "Real" artist. Which, however lofty a goal, I eventually do.

Spotify says otherwise  By download I hope that includes paid for downloads?! Also, I promote my tracks before processing the release... So there's no download link until the release is processed!

Here is the only feedback I've ever received on soundcloud: (not that I promote the music I put there.)

yo you got sick music, you should make it downloadable so I can have it!

This was sent to me from a "person" with the username: Bonerific
I can only assume this message originated from the planet Earth.

i use soundcloud as my as my in between place. alot of WIPs and ideas that i want feedback on, I make them downloadable just incase anyone digs em. but by the time i reach a level of production that i feel is worthy... a name change will be forthcoming & only sample snippets will be available! I do hate when ppl dload and don't give feedback, but ay.... atleast ma music is getting out there, somewhere!!

Then they're just dickheads innit, it might not be instantly - it might be in a weeks time but I always reply to peoples 320 requests. Even if they're just casual listeners and not DJs - After all, remember people, casual listeners also buy tunes, spesh if you're putting out digital.
