He's actually doing it through a talkbox? I figured he was using a vocal sample and then doing some vocoding on it or something. Am I wrong on this? Is there any possible way to get a similar sound out of a vocal sample?

could be an Antares plugin ting.. like Antares Throat .. but yeah, someone coming into the studio to record vocals is how its done, not that difficult

Protip: You could get a free talkbox. Smoke 2-3 packs of cigs for a while and your insurance will pay for one after your tracheotomy.
