A year after the epic 1st Alternative Graduation Ball with Hazard and Black Sun Empire, RaveTrent is back with a vengeance. This time round, we’ve teamed up with Nottingham Uni’s DnB Soc, Rave Soc and Dubstep Soc to bring you an even bigger party that’s guaranteed to get even Gordon Brown dancing.
We’ve toiled for months to bring all these societies together and overcome a multitude of obstacles. We’ve played the most important game of Rock Paper Scissors ever held and we’ve strived to put together a line up of not only the most cutting edge headline DJs but also the most talented student DJs in Nottingham!
So it's time to pack up your pens and calculators and dust off those festival wellies and get down to Stealth for the last party of the year before the Summer takes over! HERE COMES THE SUN!! WOOOOP!

★ XAMPLE AND LOMAX ★
As individual producers, Xample and Lomax have both enjoyed massive solo successes. As a testament to their immense talent and ability to write catchy music which is as bass-heavy as it is melodic, they were both signed to Andy C’s label Ram Records. This label, arguably one of the most successful in dance music, is famous for not only releasing immense music but also the innate ability to spot emerging talent. To put this into perspective, their previous two signings were Subfocus and Chase and Status!
In 2007, Ram saw the massive potential of combining the raw dancefloor sound of Xample and the musical edge of Lomax. When they got in the studio together their sound was an instant success. They’ve released three singles which have been rinsed by every major DJ on the planet. Their most recent release, “Remember” has been a regular on Radio1 and their album, is the most highly anticipated release of 2010. Their DJ sets consist of their own forthcoming material (which is truly next level!) as well as fresh dubplates from the likes of Subfocus and the rest of Ram Records camp!

★ SIGMA ★
This production duo are absolutely smashing it right now. They’re absurdly busy with a string of forthcoming releases and a grueling gig schedule (an American tour and a plethora of European dates) which makes Nick Clegg’s election campaign look like a trip down the shops and back. Their latest podcast reached the top 20 most downloaded podcasts on iTunes and a remix of their tune “Front to Back” is currently Andy C’s intro tune. If this wasn’t enough, they’ve just released a V.I.P of their smash hit “Paint It Black” on the mighty Hospital Records and they’ve just remixed Owl City’s “Fireflies” for Annie Mac!
Previous releases include Drum and Bass Arena’s MOST downloaded tune of all time, “All Blue” and the relentlessly popular DnB remix of Damian Marley’s “Welcome to Jamrock”. The 1st release on their own imprint “Life Recordings” featured “El Presidente VIP” and “Something Special” and, as well as receving support from various Radio1 DJs, left listeners humming along incessantly!
The future’s bright for Sigma – they’re releasing an E.P in the coming months on Breakbeat Kaos – the label which bought us Pendulum. They’ve also been collaborating with BBK’s co-owner DJ Fresh, the result of which is the immense “Lassitude” which we think is sure to be THE Summer anthem this year so what better than to have them down to play as the season of sun begins!

☊ SUBSCAPE ☊
We’ve been trying to get this guy for ages! Those of you who listen to dubstep will know all about this 21 year old wonderkid. A few years back Caspa realised Subscape’s massive potential and signed him to his Dub Police label alongside artists such as The Others and more recently Trolleysnatcha.
Since then, Subscape has been responsible for a string of devastating dancefloor smashers including the anthems “Nothings Wrong” and “Let Me Clear My Throat”. As an established artist on the Dubstep scene, Subscape has had tunes featured on Ministry Of Sounds “The Sound Of Dubstep” CD and has had many appearances on Radio shows including a guest mix for Radio 1 in March. With forthcoming releases such as “Screw Up” and “Think about you” its safe to say that Subscape is here for the long haul!

☊ ZEDS DEAD ☊
You could be forgiven for not hearing about this incredibly talented Canadian duo but we are honoured that they have decided to play for us as part of their UK and European tour. They’re at the forefront of Toronto’s vibrant dubstep scene and they simply have to be heard - with LOADS of incredible tunes and remixes, its bizarre they still haven’t been signed to a label yet! They fuse a melodic rocky style with filthy dubstep vibes and the result is utterly scintillating! Fine examples of this are their gargantuan remixes of Massive Attack’s “Paradise Circus”, Radiohead’s “Pyramid Song” and Blue Foundations “Eyes on Fire”.
They’re supported by none other than Kissy Sell Out who, as well as playing their tunes in his recent Essential Mix Live, also interviewed them for his own Radio1 show in which he describes them as “the hottest new deuce on the scene”. As the people that bought you artists like Nero and Bar9 to Nottingham before anyone else, trust us – Zed’s Dead are going to smash it!!
