bioremediation has been about for years... as you can tell by how old this video. im going to take a guess and say BP have 100% looked into this. It's a lot more complicated than just chucking a load of bacteria over some oil and watch them eat it up. The area of this spill is huge, and a lot of it is deep underwater. A lot of the microbes will just float along the surface, they won't be able to survive as well in the pressures/darkness of underwater. It might of come on a long way since i studied it a few years ago but this problem needs more than one solution

Strange how many millions jump at the responsibility to donate and help 'natural disasters' i.e. 'sri lanka, haiti etc' compared to those willing to help solve problems caused by fellow humans. This dude says there's only one solution regarding BP, but solution two is to give way to the funding and allowance of none oil-derived fuel sources, particularly for motor vehicles. Engines can run on ample tings! Most life runs on sugarrrrrrrrrrr anyway

It only takes a tiny bit to be a disaster. We are throwing tons of money at failing ideas trying to block the pipe, when we should concentrate on the clean up.

Whether you're cleaning up one million gallons or two... it's still going to cost a fuckload.
The difference is, cleaning it up will be money well spent.

Why don't they cut down a tree with the diameter of the pipe hole and plug the dam thing. The solution seems so simple and quick. I know it would take time to cut a tree down and deliver it to the ship. But they do it all the time in the logging community, they use helicopters. Just a suggestion.
