Post your prouction setup and how much $ you spent on it
I have an old ass windows xp laptop and fruity loops, it cost me $0 because it is not mine lol, I'm trying to change this.
I want to get a better setup with a proper DAW, MIDI controller, keyboard maybe.. Trying to get an idea how much a proper setup will cost me. It'd also be cool if you have some tracks to show that you made with X setup so I can see what each slew of gear has potential for.
thanks

It's not what gear you have it's how you use it.. and fruity loops is a proper daw
Re: Post your prouction setup and how much $ you spent on it
Its embarrassing that I have this much kit and nothing to show for it, so I'm not telling. Suffice it to say, "too much" and "too much".

give or take would have been about 10k. dont have too much to show for it as of yet(been too busy trying to make the most of my youth) but have been back into the past few months and its going good so should have some stuff to be proud of soon.

My totally wrecked studio at the moment:

Re: Post your prouction setup and how much $ you spent on it
Production: Korg PadKontrol, Sennheiser HD-25 II, and a Dell Dimension 5150 with a whole 1GB ram
Mixing: Behringer DJX 700 which is horrible and 2x Denon DNS3000 with popped out cue buttons on both
most of you are fairly lucky

I studied all my life, and worked very hard to afford what little I have.

Re: Post your prouction setup and how much $ you spent on it
i rarely use it anymore, i bought it in 2006 when i produced trance based music.
i mostly use it now just to practice sound design, and fuck around.
it has an awesome supersaw waveform that i have yet to see emulated in any software or another synth, so for that, it's great.
other synths you have to use a extremely fast lfo synced to the pulse width, but the jp, you just dial the super saw, set the detune and it sounds dope.
the filter is pretty decent also and has a nice warmth to it.
