I'm surprised I haven't seen more talk of this 'round the net. Orbital, after officially splitting up back in 2004, has reunited and released their first single. I just grabbed it from Juno last night. Don't Stop Me / The Gun Is Good.

If you ask me, these tunes are as good as Orbital has ever been, which makes me really excited about the future. Hopefully this won't just be a one-off thing and they'll keep at it. Don't Stop Me has that signature sound super melodic electro house, while The Gun Is Good is a banger rife with acid stabs throughout. It's almost hard to believe they took such a long hiatus, as you wouldn't think so just listening to the tunes.

Hmmm, I dunno. It all sounds a bit like it was put together in 5 mins with some expensive software, i wasn't too keen on the female 'Ohh Ohhh' samples nicked from Buggles 'Video Killed The Radio Star'. I expected more from the creators of 'Halcyon' and 'Chime' times change.
It seems their sound has too.
Not my cuppa, but cheers for putting it up. Always interesting to see what bros Hartnoll are up to.

Yeah not too sure about these tunes... love some of their older stuff though, this is a good one

this is great news! ive always loved orbital and theyve had a big influence on me musically. i prefer 'the gun is good' upon first listening
