thank god. finally i can get these hippies to shut up about "you need people to make music or it just doesnt sound good!!! wah wah wah Jesus Camp gave me nightmares!"
goddamn, the only thing humans bring to live performance is error.
and Jesus Camp is not scary. If i have kids they are definitely going to that summer camp.

Thats the business. I'd love to run a robot orchestra and someday now my dreams could come true.

Ah man this just made my day.
Then again there's nothing like human error, something that can't be sacrificed. I'd like to see a band of both robots and humans, playing together, in peace love harmony and potato chips

brilliant electronics and computer programming but
that performance of coltrane was not very good .
the solo was no where near the original and it sounded mediocre imo.

The robot is hitting the right notes but to me the performance sounds flat and lifeless.
This is still an interesting innovation and Im sure it wont be too long before there are fully fledged robo-bands. (Welcome to the quietest tour bus in history)
But, I cant help feeling that the brains who dedicate so much time to getting robots to perform tasks would be better off solving climate change or something like that.

it is pretty amazing and it will be interesting what this type of experimentation this kind of thing will lead to.
