Seeing the "Inception" thread reminded me to ask people if anyone has seen this movie:
Saw it in an art theater, fucking brilliant documentary on tagging.

That trailer is pretty ironic
Clearly ridicules trailers and films using promotion from other sources then goes on to do it itself

dont get me wrong banksy has real talent, and hes a fuckin smart guy, but hes more of a celebrity then a graffiti artist.
something i find strange is he has this wierd power, he can make anybody rich by just vandalising their house. you could call him robin hood, but he has now gained somewhat of an immunity from getting arrested because everyone bums him so much, which didnt happen with robin hood because there was no such thing as hipsters and police who didnt do their job because the public asked them not to in his times.
also, his work is more in the culture of rich snobs who think they are arty and urban because they can spend hundreds or even thousands on a canvas which he can reproduce cause its a fuckin stencil , and last time i checked art collecting wasnt an urban hobby...
whilst everyone who loves him up tends to disregard other writers who actually do graffiti and can still get arrested for it because it "doesnt mean anything"

also just clocked state your name, that documentary is sweet. my favourite one is probably infamy though, shows a real good collective of big names who actually stick to their roots. and some butthole graffiti cleaner

I enjoyed it, definitely worth the price of admission. It really shows how hype and a "fake it till you make it" attitude can do your work for you... it's was depressing to see how much art that french guy sold, simply by getting a Banksy quote. Plus, all his shit looked like it was done by Andy Warhol
