He's coming to Birmingham Gatecrasher sometime this month along with Doctor P, Dj Hazard, Funtcase and a few others.
He's made a few mixtapes but I don't know if they were made on decks or w/e.
He's pretty good!

Yeah he is getting on bare line-ups now. Tbh i cant slate him for getting out there and playing out and stuff. Still think he is a bit muggy tho.

I bet he mixes off a laptop or midi controller or something....neither of that is confirmed just what i reckon. His Facebook fanpage has over 20k fans so he wont be totally out the game.

Tomba is even flying him out to Israel for his album launch. Just a dude with a good idea that has now become very lucky.......kinda like MistaJam. :u:

I believe he mixes from CDs. I don't really get why his YouTube account would have been suspended though, people sent him tunes to upload he never uploads stuff he hasn't got permission to.

you seem to suggest there is something wrong with using a midi controller and using a laptop?

why is this?

I say this because when i initially started i was using a torq midi controller....which had a sync button.....i thought i was the nuts (I wasnt obvs)! This dude has a massive name out there due to his youtube account, its possible he might bypass actually learning to mix and just go about using snyc buttons to be able to mix sufficiently well in a club. This is kinda the attitude i have got from a few of the ''Filth'' lovers i know.

Edit: Not saying this is what all people who use laptops users/midi controllers do. Just the attitude most ''filth'' ''djs'' i have come across have.

lol kinda shit generalization. There are plenty of DJ's on the 'other half' of dubstep that are doing the same thing.

I'm not sure which is worse, a filth dj using a synch button, or a roots dubstep dj who barely even mixes tracks and just slams them together and pulls back the outgoing track.

Yeah i am pretty shit at generalizing everything

Just dont really know any roots djs, im more in with the filth crowd tbh.

But i could be completely wrong and he may mix perfectly off of CDs. Tbh I dont have a fucking clue, but for a 'quick fix' thats what i guess he may be doing

ratings to the guy even if i have gone off that side of dubstep, used to be constantly locked onto his account back in the day, and now he seems to have gotten mad amounts of attention!

and people are only buying into inspector dubplate (promoters) because of his facebook following.

Same as that guy who owns UKF Dubstep on YouTube who is apparently going to release an album through the same people as ours :\

fair point.

i use the sync button before i play a track to make sure it isn't a few bpm out before i mix em, but, even if people still look down on that then i don't really care, id rather do that, then make a tit out of myself have 2 tracks out of sync sounding shit

Well its safe to assume most djs doing studio mixtapes are using mix meister or abelton these days.

Dubstep really isnt hard to mix.... most of it if not all of it (especially in the filth crowd) are produced at 140bpm and pretty standard beats.

I'm heavily into the filth side, but am well involved in the other side of things as well. Safe to say, most of the djs who began djing with dubstep aren't stellar dj's.

It's embarassing all round tbh.... last weekend headlined the dubstep room at a party and out of the 8 dubstep dj's there was maybe one other DJ besides myself who could dj worth a shit.

i would rather see someone whos clearly taken the time and passion to learn how to mix.

but if he can this might be a very good booking for us up in york... the crowd is very fickle and its difficult to just book the artists you really want.

Inspector is a chill dude, and provides a legit service to a lot of labels. He's not downloading tunes and slapping em on youtube. He has a relationship with all the labels he promotes. I for one appreciate the fact that when I'm ready to debut a Dubsaw tune to the world, I can hit Inspector up with a clip and within hours will have the feedback our label is looking for regarding a tune and also have a fair amount of consumers awaiting the release of our tunes.

When it comes to the dirtier side of dubstep, he's got access to some of the biggest tunes of the moment 24/7, which as a DJ can do wonders for how in demand you are.

and fyi he can legitly dj.

what if you have the time and passion to learn to mix, but dont have the money for decks? i love mixing and avoid the sync button, and im not doing it to get paid or anything. plus i see having a larger bass of music which i own alot more easier to mix with, then going out and having to buy all of my songs again on vynil.

im wanting to invest in some decks in the future maybe but its way too much for me at the moment.

plus i think a mix isnt just about the beatmatching, its where the mix goes and how it developes. what you said may not have been a jab at cdjs but i feel alot of people dont regard cdjs as real mixing equiptment

I think its more of an issue when you are paying someone to come have a mix. Even though i don't use them purely out of preference, vinyl love etc, i still regard cdjs, serato and traktor etc as valid.

But i do think you should save up and get equipment... fairplay for wanting to.

To be honest i was annoyed when my mates crew booked Cookie Monsta ( although to be honest i do like a lot of his production) and he used virtual DJ.
