Well there goes another great Dubstep Channel!
worldwide dubstep community

He's coming to Birmingham Gatecrasher sometime this month along with Doctor P, Dj Hazard, Funtcase and a few others.HRKRT wrote:been seeing him on a few lineups, can he actually mix? has anyone seen him?
you seem to suggest there is something wrong with using a midi controller and using a laptop?LA_Boxers wrote:I bet he mixes off a laptop or midi controller or something....
I say this because when i initially started i was using a torq midi controller....which had a sync button.....i thought i was the nuts (I wasnt obvs)! This dude has a massive name out there due to his youtube account, its possible he might bypass actually learning to mix and just go about using snyc buttons to be able to mix sufficiently well in a club. This is kinda the attitude i have got from a few of the ''Filth'' lovers i know.goodeh wrote:you seem to suggest there is something wrong with using a midi controller and using a laptop?LA_Boxers wrote:I bet he mixes off a laptop or midi controller or something....
why is this?
lol kinda shit generalization. There are plenty of DJ's on the 'other half' of dubstep that are doing the same thing.LA_Boxers wrote:I say this because when i initially started i was using a torq midi controller....which had a sync button.....i thought i was the nuts (I wasnt obvs)! Edit: Not saying this is what all people who use laptops users/midi controllers do. Just the attitude most ''filth'' ''djs'' i have come across have.
Yeah i am pretty shit at generalizing everythingpkay wrote:lol kinda shit generalization. I'm not sure which is worse, a filth dj using a synch button, or a roots dubstep dj who barely even mixes tracks and just slams them together and pulls back the outgoing track.
fair point.LA_Boxers wrote:Yeah i am pretty shit at generalizing everythingpkay wrote:lol kinda shit generalization. Just dont really know any roots djs, im more in with the filth crowd tbh.
But i could be completely wrong and he may mix perfectly off of CDs. Tbh I dont have a fucking clue, but for a 'quick fix' thats what i guess he may be doing
One of Borgore's buddies I believe. Filthy/chainsaw/methedrone music.Cillit Bang wrote:who the fuck is tomba.

and people are only buying into inspector dubplate (promoters) because of his facebook following.
Same as that guy who owns UKF Dubstep on YouTube who is apparently going to release an album through the same people as ours :\

I think its more of an issue when you are paying someone to come have a mix. Even though i don't use them purely out of preference, vinyl love etc, i still regard cdjs, serato and traktor etc as valid.crackf wrote:HRKRT wrote:i would rather see someone whos clearly taken the time and passion to learn how to mix.
what if you have the time and passion to learn to mix, but dont have the money for decks? i love mixing and avoid the sync button, and im not doing it to get paid or anything. plus i see having a larger bass of music which i own alot more easier to mix with, then going out and having to buy all of my songs again on vynil.
im wanting to invest in some decks in the future maybe but its way too much for me at the moment.
plus i think a mix isnt just about the beatmatching, its where the mix goes and how it developes. what you said may not have been a jab at cdjs but i feel alot of people dont regard cdjs as real mixing equiptment
THIS IS JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKE!HRKRT wrote:To be honest i was annoyed when my mates crew booked Cookie Monsta ( although to be honest i do like a lot of his production) and he used virtual DJ.
