I don't know about them price-wise, but you could check them out. It sounds like a fairly straightforward thing if it's just components need replacing.

I had problems with my beloved 101 recently too so i took it apart, cleaned all the pots with some spirit, re-souldered a couple of the more skanky, jammed-up looking joins (probably unnecessary but i love that shit) and then put it all back together. It now works like a charm and looks the nuts too as i took the opportunity to freshen up the case too. i definately recommend you do this before paying someone. Just make sure its unplugged ! :)

There is NO POINT to it if you can't tweak that filter!

:)

Damn, these places do charge an arm and a leg to fix your stuff. There are so few of them around these days, too. If you can fix it all yourself, that would be great.

Yes the first thing i thought was go and buy some pot cleaner and spray the sliders and pots. It this doesn't work then the next step would be repair

There are loads of guides on the net that tell you how to fix old synths. It just a matter of having the balls to do it. BTW what you need if you want to clean sliders/faders/pots is this stuff

yeah I was gonna say use the super 10 spray stuff.
It's suprising how many peeps think that you should use wd40 or alcohol based stuff to clean pots and faders.

DON'T USE WD40!! It'll murder your machine.
