Weird shape on my Soundcloud waveform...?

So I made this tune...
Soundcloud
The waveform is a really weird shape! It looks like the volume is going up and down but it appears to sound okay. Can't figure out why it looks like that?
Anybody got any ideas?

Can only mean one thing mate, that is that your volume really is going down at the point your waveform is decreasing...
I'm so smart

There's a difference between perceived volume of a track and actual volume of a track dude

the spaces are just where there aren't any drum hits or anything and just the release of the samples

I realise it sounds like a stupid question!
There's no automation or anything in Reason so it just seems odd...?

i assumed its cuz of the space between hits and not alot of compression or limiting

im sure this is to do with pitch and hertz not volume
i have seen some crazy wave forms
the best i've noticed are usually house tunes crazy oscillations that are aesthetically pleasing

I don't mean the gaps in the beats and bass and stuff, I mean the overall volume.
Surely it should be like a straight line across (to a certain extent)...?

The reason it's like that is because the narrow parts are where your spectrum is only partially full (e.g. more mids than lows and highs, vice versa). The large parts of the spectrum are where there are more frequencies being outputted.

Okay, but the bit at 47 seconds is exactly the same as the bit at 1:15...?
