Can anybody explain to me what swing is? i understand grooves in ableton are used for swing but what do the grooves mean? for example 8-1?

Also can anybody give tips on making my drums sound less computerized? i thought using swing would help but im not too sure on how to use it.

Swing basically helps to give parts a more human feel so moves parts a little(or a lot) of the grid and make it feel less computerised.

Here's a great vid for helping you with your drums. It mightn't be your type of music but you hopefully get the idea.
