Us Brits have been knocking the British since British has been in existence. We also mock everyone else too, so fairs fair.
And isn't the time from being urban black slang to suburban white slang getting less and less with the internet and all, thus immediately becoming a parody of itself anyway. This is also true of Aussie sayings, cockney rhyming slang, Mancunian accents (cheers Oasis), etc. Starting to think the language of Idiocracy is gonna be unstoppable
Isn't very funny though, bless the democratization of media

No it should be democratization of the media - run by the people for the people. When you figure what shite actually gets commissioned you can only wonder the amount of shite that's going to end up on YouTube now that having a budget isn't a consideration. Cue more tedious reality blogs, jackass style idiocy, vids of people's pets and just to show they're not wasting their lives maybe dramatising moments from their endless video gaming sessions.
I mean there'll still be good stuff up there, but not everyone is a film maker, so it's going to be mostly talentless wannabes. If there's no quality control, the diamonds are gonna get lost in the swill. You could say the same about music to a point, but it requires far more effort to get a tune finished, than to just point and shoot a camera.
Hegemonization (if the word existed) would mean a large controlling media overpowering all smaller ones which I think even with Murdoch's acquisition of MySpace is still not really the case - he doesn't seem to control content unless it's offensive/illegal and there's plenty of smaller players coming through on the backs of the new technology.
Homogenisation of culture is I think removing all the grimy bits and simplifying everything to layman's terms and making everything blander and inoffensive to suit popular tastes.

Ha sorry mate. I miss spelt that. What a shocker. I was some how confusing hegomany and Homogenisation. Which are kind of similer.

True dat and agreed.I'm not seriously all that angry about it all.Actually,I find it to be a bit funnier on the second watch. And she does say "mmm...sausage" rather seductively,so...
I realise that everyone and thier mommas mock everyone and
thier mommas, and that's fine...to an extent.I know a lot of people who talk and act a certain way,but are also into the scene(whatever that may be). It's the ones who obviously can't stomach a certain style,dialect,race/ethnicity,or type of music then mock it that gives me a charge.A good example would be like neo-N azi's who mock urban slang as a way to "prove just how ridiculously ignorant minorities truly are".These two
seem to fall into that same category, therefore it bothers me a little. Not a lot,but still a little.I just figured that with as much electronic media that is out there, some people would learn to tone down the stereotypes, seeing as how not all inner-city minorities act like G's and listen to Wu-Tang.
Oh...and as a barber who has worked with many Asian barbers/stylists,I find the haircut statement a bit fucked considering that some of the best stylists and stylist-designed tools are Japanese and Chinese.
