I've seen a lot of Amish whilst living in PA and I gotta say they're a helluva lot better than rednecks.

Also no one gives a handjob like an Amish girl who works a butter churn all day.

i guess you're watching this amish programme on channel 4 firky?
really interesting actually, as i said i do have a lot of respect for them, for the way they live, and SOME of their principles
like i could relate to them how much they hate the city life etc

but their religious views and dress sense just ruin it all lol

People are people. As long as they don't go around killing people, they're fine by me. I can't possibly socialise with everyone on the planet, so if peopel want to put themselves out of the way and be, like, superweird... fair enough. Probably wasn't going to meet any of them anyway.

According to Kingpin (which I'm assured by my solicitor is a 100% factual documentary) they breed some fine tail, too.

haha innit!

I always say live and let live. theres no point in slateing Amish people for what they are doing, because it doesnt affect you. I dont really know too much about Amish people but what i can see is that they are probably alot happier than alot of people who live in London etc. They believe in something and even if they are wrong about it (ie no god) they will have lived their lives believing that they are going to heaven, and if they dont end up in heaven theyll be dead anyway so wont have to worry about being wrong!! they havent got to worry about earning money to buy nice clothes and cars, or paying off mortgages and loans!

edit: yeah basically what Magma said

fair enough to them, but i bet they still take advantage of certain advances in medicine and stuff which have developed since the 18th century or whenever they started. Also think if the whole world decided to become amish, goodbye progress.

sexually repressed inbred luddites... but yes the self sufficiency was inspiring (?) but I bet if you scratch below the surface you have some quite fucked up beliefs. It was interesting tho :)

by the acid never lies
On the C4 program when they were discussing the street dancing they just witnessed: "It's the rhythm that troubles me."
