Adjusting the LFO manually with automation is a pain and it comes out sounding off-time no matter how finely I work it. I've used the simpler tool on ableton to get wobbles which come out great, due to the sync ratio actually working (it sounds fucked up in Massive). I know that some high-level dubstep producers use Massive, are they automating manually or using the sync ratio?
I just might be in the dark about Massive's sync ratio, but if anyone could help me out, that'd be great.

the pen tool in ableton is your friend...
Re: Is this really the easiest way to automate LFO in Massive?
both, I prefer the rate know cause you have way more freedom and you can make more unique wobbles almost organic if used wellHitscan wrote:http://i.imgur.com/UQdBc.png

or just copy the plug and change the synced rate

No need for that, just automate the ratio number instead of the rate when in synced mode, should be smth like "MODULATOR 5 NUM" - the 5 being the number of the LFO or Performance in massive. It's doable in reaper using "last button touched" so I guess ableton could do it too.dav.id wrote:

Opinions are like a$$holes, everybody's got one and they're mostly full of S***

When I try to sync it to a ratio like 1/8 it doesnt wobble and the LFO kind of skips the frequencies around. That's my main concern. Anyone know what's up?

You could always set it up so the velocity changes the lfo rate.

Is it really not possible to automate the ratio in Ableton ? I manage it dead easy in reaper, I'm almost curious enough to DL a demo just t see if I can

yes you can automate mod den in ableton just move the value of the lfo rate when it's synced and a pink line moves up and down.
