I like this idea. This is kind of a small community, but no matter. I've found so much great music here, seems like it could help everyone out yeah?

While I like giving props to people, I feel like this is a recipe for, if not disaster, then annoyance.

As soon as you start listing publicly the results of aggregate votes, then the haters come out in droves and start griefing everybody. It doesn't matter what the list is like. It could be anything, but you can count on people being all "ARTIST X IS BEST THIS MONTH? YA RIGHT, YOU BUNCH OF CUNTZ LOLOLOLOL!!1" and then causing pointless arguments over...what else?...people's bloody opinions.

I think that individual opinions are still the best, because they are more personal and meaningful. Polls may be democratic, but they tend to displease almost everyone because while they represent a collective feeling, they rarely mesh perfectly with an individual's.

While this idea is a nice one, I just don't think it would work on the Internet.

ah but you see, I've seen almost nothing but intelligent conversation and good attitudes in this subforum, which rest assured can ease your worry

this poll is just an initial one so as to decide if there should be a "top 5 producers" thread.

why not. probs alot of cats on here who can get exciting new beatmakers some good publicity/myspace hits by namechecking them in said thread?...

would also be a great indicator of exactly who's hitting the right buttons....ya getme?
