With tracks like Caspa with Mr Hudso, Katy B and Rusko working with Britney hands up who is starting to get turned off by Dubstep and would stop liking dubstep cos every joe soap now likes it too.

I think its wicked that the movement is gaining the respect it deserves thanks to all the pioneers and the various djs who are pushing it. Just gonna be sad to see it make the transition from class to crass

eg for hip hop de la soul ----~15 years-----> 50 cent ------------> death of hip hop
only with the internet it'll probably happen quicker

:(

rofl, wake up mate - hip hop is still alive and well and so will dubstep be in many years. you can't spend all day at the art gallery looking at the cocks drawn on the urinals and write the exhibition off as a load of wank.

there's a direct inverse relationship between economics and creativity...

Doesn't matter,

It will continue to head more into the mainstream light, at which point all the hipsters, scenesters etc will rate dubstep as "mainstream" they'll then move on to the next "big thing" with the lack of support behind that sort of music it will die down (however will still be there) then the scene just carries on as usual (although with a little more recognition than it used to have) I thought that's what happened with any new music scene (new to them, I am aware dubstep has been around the best part of 10 years and has roots stretching back further than that)

Prof Green has a track on his album with a dubstep beat.........safe to say its terrible, and literally the poorest beat i've heard. He would have done better coming on here and going to the dubs section. 100% better that production on that track.

this was their creative highlight, they made it when they wanted to make music for music, they couldnt have known before that it would sell so much, but when they got back together 20 some years later for purely economic reasons it was shit. they sold 45 million but i was all down hill after this wasnt it? economics trumped creativity.

Poor unkown artists tend to make music because they love it, but after success come to find they have to make music for economic reasons, be them legimate reasons or not , it has an effect when your worried about matching sales of previous albums then just about the music itself.

Also let me say im not making a value judgment, fi you want to make money thats cool, if rusko wants to make beats for brittany then cool, wont be buying it, but i dont look down on him for trying to make a living, i just find that once money is a major factor in creation, it has a negative impact on whats being created. Its exaclty why they have the "sophmore album slump" that a lot of artists fall into. and of course there are exceptions to prove the rule.

What about everyone else involved in the production of the album? engineers, studio managers, session musicians, producers, mastering engineers, distribution, marketing, assistant engineers, musicians, scratch vocalists, agents, label owners, artists?

Do they have enough money too?
