Looking for a VST

Does anyone know of a VST which basicly does the same thing as the Massive performer LFO but can also effect the volume aswell as the cutoff?

I don't know of a standalone VST like the Massive performer, but you realise you can assign the Massive one to the amplitude of your oscillators, or the output volume of the synth, right? (Or indeed, anything else in Massive)

Yeah, performer is just one of the enveloping options in Massive, it's just an automation pattern that can be built out of shapes like most DAW's do, except it loops and has a few nifty settings:

Nothing you can't do with just the automation options of your DAW really, just quicker sometimes. And like I said, can be routed to anything in Massive.

Glorified step sequencer basically, except you assign it like you would an envelope or LFO, instead of to MIDI notes. And the shapes you can make with it are pretty cool.

I don't use massive, It's for one of my effects rack setups in Ableton, at the moment I'm using a Utility and an Autofilter, but I just find if I had something like the performer LFO it would make my already weighty workflow a bit quicker.

I think they're like a kind of "slide" function

Enables or disables the fader for that step of the pattern. The top one is linked to the crossfader and the bottom to the amp mod slider. Basically if you uncheck it, the fader is ignored for that part.

It's missing in that screenshot for some reason (old version?) but in the actual UI the line between those two rows of rectangles is joined to the vertical line seperating the faders, so it's more obvious that they're linked.

Thanks. I'd figured out the top one, but never the bottom.

There are several VSTs that do this.

MeldaMultiband Tremelo will do what you want. The loopable modulators are extremely customisable.

Also check out Sugarbytes Thesys.

Maybe look through http://www.asseca.com/nicfit/index.html for something too. :)

Any synth with a loopable MSEG (like Atlantis) can do what you want. Maybe search Google for VSTs with MSEGs or loopable LFOs.

A few synths to check out with this feature include Fuzzpilz Oatmeal (loopable LFO), Camel Audio Alchemy (MSEG) and Greenoak Crystal (MSEG).

Hope that helps!

Patrick :)

Silly me, I forgot to add FAW Circle to the list of synths with custom LFO shapes.

Why don't you just draw the automation in your DAW ?
