 there's relatively no pressure in producing, it's completely different.

Unlucky mate, official events would have been a safer bet for your first time, sound checks etc beforehand.
Have my first coming up Saturday, open air daytime one. Seriously hope nothing shit happens to me like that! Bringing my own gear though, so shouldn't have any surprises in that regard.

Learn from your mistakes and move on. I guess what you need to take from this experience is to ALWAYS familiarize yourself with the equipment before you play out, even if thats just watching other dj's to get a feel for it.

i completely disagree that theres no pressure in producing, i always felt under pressure to make music that is good to the point where the music i was making wasnt for my enjoyment but other peoples, which caused me to stop. now i only really make a bit of ambient music when i have some feelings that i need to put into music, rather than producing a beat for the sake of producing.

shame about your set though man, happens to the best im sure

Veering off topic here, but it is kind of interesting. I think there is pressure in producing. If I don't watch it, I'll have a whole host of people sitting before me watching, waiting, evaluating every tweak I make. Have to banish those cocksuckers from your studio (mind).

It's all relative to where production comes in your life I guess.
