HEAR NO EVIL - a new project in Manchester with workshops leading up to the production of 1000 copies of a compilation CD and magazine.

One Five Eight and Mind On Fire are joining forces to bring you a three-stage celebration of creativity.
A weekend of free creative workshops held over the August Bank Holiday weekend will inspire your earsand eyes. Get involved and you could find yourself featured in a Magazine or on a CD that will be distributed to industry professionals and like minded individuals.

In collaboration with NOISEfestival.com and Youth In Action who brng opportunities to young people throughout the UK by funding projects such as Hear No Evil, See No Evil.

...Workshops include –


PERCUSSION workshop - Friday 27th August - 8pm - 11pm
Come along and try your hand at drumming and percussion with members of Mind on Fire and Herbal Sessions, culminating in a group performance with MCs from In The Loop. All abilities welcome – no experience necessary!


MC workshop - Friday 27th August - 8pm - 11pm
Join Manchester collective In The Loop for one of their ever popular Hip Hop workshops, with lessons in rhyme, lyric writing and performance before jumping on the mic with members of the Mind on Fire Band.


LIVE ART & SCREENPRINTING workshops - Saturday 28th August - 11am - 8pm
Help make a master piece with OnefiveEight. As a collaborative project you’ll be adding your ideas to artworks created by this Manchester based creative collective.
one69A will also be taking you through the screen printing process, producing a specially designed T-shirt by OneFiveEight artist Face.


DISCUSSION/Q&A - Saturday 28th August - 2pm
YIA is focused on providing opportunities for Informal learning. Can you get ahead in the creative industries with an informal education? Do you need a degree or can we learn more from each other? Join a small discussion or just bring your ears to get some ideas.


LIGHT ART & PHOTOGRAM workshops - Sunday 29th August - 2pm ‘til 8pm
Learn cutting edge techniques using light to paint with, then step into the darkroom to learn a process that has gone out of favor in the digital age but its results, I’m sure you’ll agree, are breathtaking.


DISCUSSION/Q&A - Sunday 29th August - 6pm
YIA promotes social interaction - could being involved with music and art projects open your eyes to new sides of our community? Don’t know how you can get involved? Chip in with your views on how we can shape our society’s creative future


MUSIC & PORTFOLIO CRITIQUES - Monday 30th August - 6pm ‘til 9pm

Music critique...
Do you make music? Ever wanted to know what the professionals really think? Now is your chance. Submit your tunes at the drop box in noise lab or email them to hearnoevilseenoevil@live.com and your music will be judged for the chance of appearing on our CD to be distributed through Manchester and beyond.
Panelists include: ILLUM SPHERE (Fat City, Hoya:Hoya), INDIGO (Mindset Recordings), DENIS JONES (Humble Soul), CHRIS McCOURT (Everybody’s Stalking, Atlantic Records) as well as representatives from Onefiveeight and Mind on Fire.
