Yeah that sounds almost identical........ turn off your computer, turn it on again...... as soon as you've hit the power button to turn on again keep pressing F8, then choose safe mode with networking, then download, install, and scan using avast. Once that's done, set it to scan before boot, then turn off and on again (now it will scan before windows even starts which means no malicious proccesses can start)aspect-dubz wrote:we must have visited the same site.. i got a virus the other day and now can't use anything from my original user account, if i go on mozzila or explorer and this page comes up saying 'you have a virus' then some dodgy virus scanning looking site pops up. after, this software that i never downloaded pops up in my taskbar and immediatly starts scanning the computer, coming up with all sorts of horrible virus' i.e trojans etc. i don't know a thing about getting rid of virus' so i'll have to carefully read back through all these post's.

I did do a couple other things to get rid of mine before using avast but i think avast will do those things anyways.
Just make sure you ignore the fake warnings etc
