basically means it a promotion vinyl, likee hard to explain but like bascially to promote the tune because its a highly anticipated tune so they get out a quick release so people can test it out sorta, i think im chatting shit but thats what i think it means.. haha

You do occasionally get full artwork promos though, which are great.

you get your vinyls a few weeks earlier than the rest of the world, so you can be the first to spin em (except of course for those who had the dubplates). Used to be no artwork white label pressings, nowadays full artwork promo's are coming about. Which I don't get really.

from what i gather, a promo is a prerelese of a record. if it sells well, the record will get a regular press, however, it was mentioned before that there are a lot of full artwork promos, which are pretty much the same thing as the actual release, just with the word promo on them. there are white labels, but ive only noticed a few high profile releases getting this treatment. i know floating point's "peoples potential" got a white release, then soon after the full artwork as well as a bside was added. the bigger labels, ie hyperdub dont do promos i'd imagine because they know their releases will sell

I need to label all my black acre and black box promos. They look exactly the same. Few times I've drawn for an RSD record and end up with a Dark Sky one
