Fake Cloud'er
Recently, i have seen a number of songs on soundcloud which 1000+ comment on every little space available. It's so bad, when you play the songs, every second the comment flicks to another comment distracting you.
Fair play to those, who have deserves the comments, they are legit, the artist would mostly know the commenter's. However, there are some bullshit (excuse my lag) songs on soundcloud with 10000+ views, 1000000+ comments, which of most are " SICKKKKKKKKKK BLUD" "diz shit is so filthy... (then something about their grandmum)
Is there really a need for this fake bullshit ? What are you trying to prove with your zillion views and fake comments? Do you actually know any of your commenter's... ? By having lots and lots of comments on your songs what you trying to say? This song is better then another song with 0 comments ? And these songs are so badly produced and engineered it unbelievable
Get of soundcloud the fakes waste's, go do something productive instead. Keep the comments and feedback real man, not just fake feedback, so you can get zillons comment on your songs...

And these people generally have decent enough sellin' releases.. They're just doing it the dishonest way(mass-spamming people on soundcloud or w/e...To name, names.. I constantly have run-ins with "cotton mouth" he CONSTANTLY spams me his tunes and I have said every single time, your tunes are waste, stop spamming me and alas, he still does) let them do what they want innit.

It's a common phase, its not what you know, it's who you know, like you must said. And it's not just in the music industry, it's in most industry. However, there most be a balance, should be 50/50. So in music, the song must be at least semi decent...!3za wrote:always has been.nitz wrote:Apparently so... (these days )3za wrote:its not what you know, its who you blow
Re: Fake Cloud'er
here here. i share my music with all of the dubstep groups on soundcloud. some people have given me a lot of nice feedback, and for that i'm thankful. but i don't like all this fake bullshit either. if someone asks me to listen to a tune...i might. if i like it, i'll comment on it. don't comment on any of my shit only because you want something in return.
i've only properly been using soundcloud for a couple of months. but i've started to see these things:
1. random reasonably big name producer (i got one from renegade hardware) starts following you. he then spams you and 2000 other people with a couple of his tracks, then proceeds to unfollow you.
2. random pm from someone who doesn't follow you and you've never even spoken to before. "sup. check my new beats innit bruv blah blah blah..."
3. "do you need promotion? if yes then join our website. for a price, we'll get you even less exposure than your soundcloud already does. plus we'll put your unmastered and poorly mixed tunes on itunes where nobody will buy them."
4. "hi i'm some random guy you've never heard of. would you like me to master your tune? for the measly price of £40 i'll make it sound even less lifeless than your original mix."

Re: Fake Cloud'er
i agree, i too have seen a bunch of inflated views.
comments can be hidden per track if you want to listen or flick through without them though.

Look at this:

So many comments i cant seen hear the song with the flicking of comments. Don't want to comment on the production of the song itself, but just play and and you make up your own mind....

Yeah, if you wanna be known as the guy who spammed 100,000, only got 1,000 comments and 99,000 mutes... then w/e, prioritize.

Having zillon comments on your S.C page does not make you a success... (personally talking) And i don't see how any of this people actually spend decent time learning music production/ music thorery or audio engineering
So, they have success, without having worked for it? This is what i don't understand.

Re: Fake Cloud'er
I don't get the obsession w/ Soundcloud comments.
It seems like people like them for reassurance or to feel popular.
Do you ever really get valuable feedback on Soundcloud?
I have only used Soundcloud a few times, but it seems like having some producer friends on AIM and swapping tunes would be a lot more beneficial.

Re: Fake Cloud'er
I value about 90/95 of my feedback on Soundcloud, as one source of getting feedback. It's not my main source, but, nevertheless, it for those whom i can not reach to sometimes. I know my commenter's, they are not just some randomiser. I generally go about a different way of getting feedback, but soundcloud can be used in a efficient way for those's how you can not get to always.Jean-Luc Cougar wrote:I don't get the obsession w/ Soundcloud comments.
