He's 7 getting on a bit now but yeah proper chunk. Just out of interest pkay did you read my interview? I would be interested on your reactions to it, specifically the bit about being a DJ and being a selector, i know you rep Dubsaw so be interesting to see what you make of it. I'm not on aggi tip either, just curious.

this always got me about mary anne hobbes, wicked selector, never learnt to mix fully - but never needed to

every time i saw her she killed it, yet 90% of the reactions to her sets would be 'ahhh she can't mix'. coki never used to mix perfectly, but you'd never get complaints because the dubs he came with could murder the dancefloor

some of the best djs in dubstep mix perfectly, but the selection is what raises them up a level - plastician and benny ufo come to mind

on the flipside you can mix perfectly and select terribly and you'll kill the dancefloor (in a bad way)

last night a selector saved my life..?

anyways, bigup tunnidge, can't wait for all the things that are coming

Yeah man read the interview. I thought it was well done and, you were pretty much on point about the seletor bit. I get a lot of shows where for DJ's its just build, drop, build, drop, etc and no flow involved with it.... On the darker/filthier side of things there's a majority of the DJ's who want the crowd to look at them and say "oh my god this is insane" instead of putting people on the floor and keeping them moving for their 60-90 minutes. So I don't disagree one bit. I think on all aspects of dubstep the idea of the selector taking you on a journey, literally controlling the crowds emotions is somewhat lost.

I hate to be cliche and draw parallels to drum and bass but when I came in in 99/00 there were people who were guns blazing for amen smashers but hating on techstep or hating on the liquid bits and then people hating on the less breaks oriented 2/step drum and bass.... then there were people who saw the value in it all and could work out which bits were really tunes and could use it to literally take someone on a journey with their set, regardless of what subgenre the internet wants to put on the tunes.

Great read and your mutt looks healthy as he needs to be!
