Saw dub echoes again the other day, and now I truly get that really EVERYTHING we hearn today comes from Jamaican dub music: Basically pretty much all of the underground dance music is dub -> bassline + drums are the backbone of the track, the rest you get to color in how you like.

ambient dub, dub techno, dubby dnb, dubby dubstep, dubby hiphop/triphop, ..
