Post by measure d » Sun Feb 19, 2006 10:25 pm

Has anyone ever heard of dubstep being played at a renegade? (illegal outdoor rave) We have some of these here in California, nothing beats hearing music bumping large ina forrest. I feel like dubstep would be the perfect music to hear outdoors, feel me?>

Used to go to mad outdoor raves near brighton .. it was mainly techno sometimes drum and bass or jungle. Dubstep would fit the vibe, calm the crazy gurners down a bit!!

Free parties still going strong down in the south-west.:D
Ive been thinking about playing some dubstep at a party maybe in the morning, not sure how it would go down though most of the time its either funkybreaks/some D&B or full on breakcore and jungle thats getting played with reggae and 80s popelectro in the morning.
I know at least a few people who would be down with it and aload that could well be converted, probably will get a set this weekend and see what happens

aaaah, so THAT'S what Norgstok was !!
I'd sell my mother to play at that (hint hint  )

As for the free party / dubstep 'ting, i was at that brizzle free party last and dubstep smashed it and i know for sure there will be some more like that this year !

I know of a couple of peeps on Squatjuice (a uk freeparty forum) who are playing dubstep / breakstep at freeparties now, but i have no idea what reaction they are getting.

I'm sure that as the buzz about the sound spreads it will turn up more and more at free parties, which means theres gonna be some crazy parties this summer ! 8)

And not just free parties - there should be some at carnival too. Was there any at Notting Hill last year? Or St Pauls in Bristol? I'd be well up for playing some dubstep at St Pauls, all the tokers sittin round in the sunshine would love it.... 8)

I was probably the only person (from what i heard) playing dubstep at the 2 big UK teknivals that went off last year in Wales and London.

I was at the Welsh rave on a mountain for 4+ days and the only other set i heard with any break/dubstep was by Simon 'The Dexorcist' Brown.

^my mate dropped gunman on our local rig at the whelsh teknival, was the first time i heard any dubstep through a rig and it nearly floored me :D, wouldve been loving it if I heard a full set tho most of the time the tekno was doing my head in so only stayed by a couple of rigs. Bring on next summer i say!!

They have got a mad rig. Looks like a load of jet engines.

Sure it originally had something to do with Matt Black from Coldcut?!
