Strange LFO Reason

Post by orinoco » Thu Sep 16, 2010 6:12 pm

I dont get this. If you loop the first bar it gives the desired results. But if you loop the three bars, you end up with different sounding LFO parts at the begining of each bar. This has been bugging me for a while, Can anyone explain this??

download and see:

btw, i used a reason drumkit just so it has some sort of minimal beat, so shush.

i'm having the same problem. for me it seems to get back on track after about 5 bars or so, but then the mayhem starts all over again... does anyone have any insight as to fixing this issue? (i'll make a new thread for this also)

got a fix on this. turns out subtractor's lfos are free-running, so you'll get that annoying problem always if you route the lfo internally. malstrom by far is the lfo powerhouse of reason, you can select the lfo to restart with a re-triggered note, plus the amount of lfo shapes malstrom has is crazy - you can get some really insane sounds that way.

route malstrom's modulator output (A or B) > subtractor's filter input, and adjust the cv input to your liking.

hope this helps

ok, time for me to input here as i have seen this over and over again.

The only synth you can do a proper re-trigger on is the thor. If you want the lfo to start every time you hit the key on any of the others your going to have to take the sync off and do get the required timing with the "free-run" as it were. Its the only way i have been able to do it, bit of a pain but at least it works. Its like the logic exs 24, only the LFO 1 allows the ability to re-trigger the lfo.

Hope that helps
